Danielle Ballis Scott, MA, LPC

Hey there! I am the founder of Courageous Counseling, as well as a licensed clinical therapist on our team. Courageous Counseling was founded on the idea that change is a courageous feat that sometimes we all need a little help to navigate our way through. If you have the desire to change, the belief that you are capable, and the courage to try, you are already halfway there. We can offer you a helping hand in reaching your desired destination in your life and within yourself. You don't have to do it alone.

My own personal experiences, traumas, and journeys in healing have helped shaped me as a clinician in many ways, including to understand the courage it takes to allow oneself to be vulnerable enough to trust someone with your most personal feelings and problems and accept help when you need it most. I respect people's autonomy in deciding the pace they are comfortable with, as everyone is in a different place in their journey.

Populations and Issues I work with:

Children under 13 on a case-by-case basis

Adolescents and pre-adolescents

Women's issues

Men's issues

Parenting

Maternal mental health

Paternal mental health

LGBTQ+, gender identity, and related issues

Identity and phase of life issues (ie, major changes such as becoming a parent, aging, marriage or divorce, etc.)

Renese M. Johnson, MA, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in working with a diverse group of individuals. My approach is a person-centered eclectic approach that fosters self-acceptance and empowerment. I frequently use CBT and solution focus techniques when assisting in facilitating healthy change.

Therapy is about you, your freedom and the healing that occurs through self-exploration, understanding, finding meaning, and deepening one's insight. My role is to help you begin to think, feel, and understand yourself more deeply, empowering lasting change.

My experience includes working with children, adults, teenagers, couples and families. Some of the populations and issues I have worked with are victims of abuse and assault, depression, anxiety, peripartum and postpartum disorders, adjustment to parenthood (men and women), relationship difficulties, and bipolar disorder, among many others. I also have experience working with teenagers in the juvenile justice system, individuals struggling with substance abuse, and children being fostered and/or adopted.

I believe each person has the answers inside of them to make the desired changes in their lives that will bring them peace, joy and healing but don't know how to access those answers. We will work together to get the answers you are looking for. I look forward to working with you.
