The Courageous Counseling Mission and Purpose
Courageous Counseling was created primarily to provide high quality virtual mental health services to residents of Texas, but our mission goes beyond quality mental health care. Courageous Counseling also aims to help communities, clinicians, individuals and their families in the following ways:
Connect individuals and families to resources in their communities they may not otherwise know about to improve their support systems and outcomes in general.
Provide employment opportunities to clinicians at an ethical and socially responsible compensation level, in hopes of modeling for other employers that it is not only feasible, but that it is unacceptable to exploit highly educated and qualified therapists and mental health clinicians for lower pay due to their presence in a female-dominated field, as they would otherwise make significantly more in a male-dominated profession with the same education and skill level.
Advocate for less exploitative relationships between practitioners and insurance companies, as well as educate the general population on the complex details of insurance coverage that may be affecting their ability to find the services they need when they need them, as well as provide other options for getting their mental health care needs met.
